In a world where everything is moving very fast, regulations are pilling up and competition is at its peak between companies. It has become essential for a company to keep abreast of current events, market and competitive changes, consumer opinions, legislative and regulatory developments and the new technologies.

The Product Manager must monitor his/her environment, identify risks and threats, identify potential needs of his/her customers in order to seize existing opportunities. To do this better, the Product Manager must identify technological innovations, anticipate behavioral changes of commercial, political and social actors and create new, more efficient products and services with a competitive advantage.

Consequently, the Product Manager must be able to set up a set of processes, tools and techniques for the automatic acquisition, detection, storage, analysis and dissemination of information within the company. He/she’s the Watch Officer!

Program Structure and Content

This executive program provides you with relevant knowledge, as well as professional skills, specific to the Product Manager, on how to build, develop, implement and manage robust agile business intelligence trough a practical step-by-step approach.

You will learn about the basics of research, the use of analytical tools and how to get more value from your business intelligence to help you make strategic and operational decisions for the development and management of your products. You will become familiar with techniques for collecting valuable information through personal interaction with the company’s employees, your competitors and others in the industry, allowing you to legally obtain valuable information. You will also learn how to compile high-quality reports and graphs that transform raw data into actionable and profitable information.

Through practical exercises, real case studies and a series of interactive group work, supported by experts, all participants will learn to apply competitive intelligence within their company.

The various topics are covered as follows:

  • Define and understand the principles of competitive intelligence (Market Intelligence, Competitor Intelligence, Customer Intelligence, Technology Intelligence and Financial Intelligence): objectives, terminology, applications, specificities and ethical issues.
  • Master the regulatory and legal aspects (EU, US and International Compliance Regulation).
  • Develop and implement a process and system for strategic monitoring in the company.
  • Configure and manage an Intelligence Center and War Room to increase efficiency and « Return On Intelligence».
  • Detect, monitor, interpret, evaluate and exploit weak and strong signals in different competitive environments
  • Develop and implement a reporting system to communicate and disseminate confidential and high-quality information without interference to the company (Top-Down & Bottom-Up Process, Intelligence Database, Drivers & Analysis, Mapping & Profiling Models).
  • Develop, use and master scenario mapping techniques to predict future movements and trends, and support product and business strategies.
  • Detect and master misinformation techniques (industrial espionage, cognitive bias, risks, manipulation, misinformation).
  • Evaluate the investment, budget, costs and resources required for an Intelligence Center.
Methodology

Designed as a highly interactive workshop, this program is based on courses, exercises, role plays, peer coaching, case studies, video clips, presentations, storytelling and discussions for an effective idea transfer and retention with the teaching staff and your peers throughout the program.
